help purchasing a plasma television

by ROB AMATO / January 23, 2006 2:20 AM PST

I recently purchased a Bose Lifestyle system and it is phenomenal
I am ready to team it up with a HD plasma or LCD television
Probably a 42 inch
Since the sound portion of my entertainment system is taken care of
I would like for most of the dollars of my purchase to go to the picture and not so much the sound.
my budget is in the$2000 to $2500 range

Panasonic Hands Down...The 50U....
by Psych Doc / January 23, 2006 2:25 AM PST

...That's all you need to know. No reasonable competition for the money. Want to spend almost twice the money, look at a Pioneer. Very good but ridiculously overpriced.

The two best plasmas, most people will agree is the Panasonic TH42PX50U and Pioneer PDP-4363HD. I read all of the reviews and the Panasonic has better black levels but side-by-side the Pioneer is the better overall TV. So if you have the $4500 buy the Pioneer but if you don?t then go with the Panasonic, which is a close 2nd. And that will be my purchase.

The PANASONIC TH-42PX50U if you want plasma.....
by Riverledge / January 25, 2006 11:38 AM PST

as for rear projection LCD, the SONY KDF-E42A10 seems to be a popular favorite. I think Sony's 40" Bravia LCD is beyond your price range. There are many
sets in your size & price range; give them a fair look, as well.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
