Question

Help Please!! I've locked my drive on Windows 7 Home Premium

by lamboali / July 3, 2011 7:09 PM PDT

Can someone please help I have Windows 7 Home Premium where I have the administrator account.
I tried to limit access to one of my drives and by mistake I took all the access rights away from the drive.
I now cant access the drive. If I right click and get the properties box up, the security tab is now missing so I cant switch them back on.
Can someone please help me re this drive. I have tried a system restore and this hasn't worked.

I have tried it in Safe Mode and eventully managed to see all the files again. Now all the folders have padlocks on them and only have read access. I have tried right clicking on each folder and clicking the read only attribute to take it off. Only it wont come off it stays locked.

Follow the steps in the link below to change those file attributes.. Or maybe even run the File and Folder Troubleshooter which pops up when you connect to the link.
