Repair is not simple and many break the LCD as they disassemble. This area is not for the beginner. Since it looks usable unless it's in warranty I would not have it fixed.
You can find Youtubes about this work so I'll end here.
So, I've had my ACER Predator Helios 300 for some time, and a few months ago I dropped it and it broke near the hinge. I ignored it at first, but one day my girlfriend closed it really fast and it broke even more. Now, I went to turn it on and (I think) the backlight is failing and it has a dim segment. I opened it, but was unable to identify the problem and didn't dare to go any further. I'm REALLY sorry about the tape and aparent lack of care, but I'd be so grateful if someone has any advice.
1) Can you kinda diagnose it with this bit of information?
2) Do you know if it has an easy repair, like reconnecting something that got loose, or something?
3) If not, what should I expect going to a repair service? I don't want to get screwed.
I feel kinda bad just throwing the problem in this forum, but, as you can guess, I don't know much about the issue and I'm going through a rough patch money wise, so I'm trying to reduce costs as much as possible. Besides, buying tech in my country is kind of expensive. Thank you in advance.
