Help Please--Colour Change/Grey Lines on Screen

Hello everyone
As of last evening--I have been having trouble with strange color on my comp. screen--it is brighter than usual--and now grey lines also on my screen.
I restarted my comp--and I got screen of: changing configurations.....I have no idea why this has happened.
Can anyone give me any ideas how to get it back to normal.

Uh oh......I was hoping for a quickie fix.
Damn....My monitor is just past warrenty and it is a really nice big one......HOhum.
