Panasonic FZ38
Jan 11, 2011 11:38PM PST

This is going to be more difficult than I thought.

For those who are not familiar with Panasonic FZ38, it is the European version of the Panasonic FZ35.

It creates video files who's name look like this ---> 0001.MTS

It is commonly called AVCHD Lite (Advanced Video Codec High Definition).

This format was established by Panasonic and Sony in 2006.

.............

I have not dealt with this format, so we need some help here.

Is there anyway to extract one frame from this video format so that it can be made into a still picture?

Can anyone help?

Free VLC media player from CNET download
Jan 12, 2011 6:17AM PST

I have been using a free video player called VLC which I downloaded from cnet. AVCHD video files are also know as M2TS files and, although I don't have any AVCHD video, the VLC software is supposed to be able to play AVCHD (M2TS) files. Also, under the Video menu at the top is a feature called "Snapshot" which will snap a picture of a frame of your video. Hope this may help.
