Help please!

Jul 1, 2007 7:06AM PDT

Hi. I've turned to forums because I have no idea what to do anymore.

I recently downloaded TCP Optimiser on my other computer (if you can, please look it up) and put the bar on max, htinking it would increase my internet speed.
But it made it slower and I couldn;t revert it. In panic I deleted the HK Logs thats it was showing in the tabs, thinking they were the TCP Optimiser ones so it would revert back.

But they weren't and I don't know what they actually were.

I've recently received a new modem, would this problem be fixed if I install the driver on that PC, and if it doesn't should I reformat my whole computer?

If so, how do I reformat?
I know you have to put the XP disc in the disk driive and boot up your pc but I tried that and had no idea what to do.

any help would be greatly appriciated.

Thank you very much

Did you try removing TCP Optimiser in add/remove or with the uninstaller in start>all programs?

I didn't have to install it, it automatically worked

"I recently downloaded TCP Optimiser"

"I didn't have to install it"

I'm confused, you say you downloaded it and you say you didn't have to install it.

Are you trying to remove this?

No

To remove it all I will have to do is delete it.

The program runs off the internet Registory Keys, I thought these keys were what were installed when I downloaded the program and deleted the keys to find that they were actually the internet keys.

I want to know if this will be resolved if I simply reinstall my wireless modem or if i have to completely reformat

I'm not familiar with the term "internet registry keys"

Maybe someone else will chime in who's heard of this.

Are you able to run System Restore (Start> All Programs>Accessories>System Tools to just before you installed TCP Optimizer ? Then look into other ways to improve your Internet speed, or tell your problems. It may not be a TCP issue...
