Help please!!

Just bought a new Toshiba Satellite A100-VA9. Has windows vista, T5500@1.66Ghz Intel Centrino Duo processor, 2gb ram, Standard vga graphics adapter and windows vista home premium. I mainly use my computers for internet, watching dvd videos, and to play the flight simulator game.

Just bought this computer and when I put a dvd in it says "Video error: files needed to display are not installed or not working correctly. Please restart windows media centre or restart computer"

Is my graphics card not the right one or am I supposed to install it after purchase? Am new to computers and don't really know the difference between vista and xp. Have used xp for a while on my old comp. Bought a new comp yesterday so my wife can have her own comp when I'm at work.

Please really need help here. Do I need to activate graphics card or do I need to purchase a better one? And any recommendations on a graphics card that isn't too costly if I have to purchase a better one.
