Maybe it's content not for an Apple OS or the archive is corrupt. Many websites get hacked and the content is corrupt so you're back to their site to ask questions.
Hello, all.
Recently, i started downloading a multipart RAR archive. I can usually open these just fine with The Unarchiver app from the App Store, but parts of this archive (labeled as z01, z02...) show up as a dvd player document or a Textedit document. The Unarchiver doesn't recognize them as part of the archive, but DVD Player can't open them, and when opened in Textedit they look like a normal RAR archive.
BTW, I have OS X Yosemite, version 10.10.3, if any of that helps.
