Help opening a file from a CD

Mar 17, 2004 2:40AM PST

Hi. I am trying to open a program from a cd and I keep getting the following message in my word document.
"This file is compressed and intended for use with Adaptec DirectCD 3.0 or later" After that message is nothing but a bunch of sqaures and symbols. I am on a laptop Dell Inspiron/1100 using Windows XP, and microsoft works 2002. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you, Donna

That could be a CDRW and is the DirectCD driver they put on the CD.

That is exactly what it is now that you say that. I looked at the cd again. How or what should I do to open these files.
