It is difficult to compare the two cameras to each other.
Apples and Oranges
The S80 is a medium size camera for intermediate photographers and it includes manual controls.
The N1 is a very small camera for point and shoot photographers.
Here is a comparison of specifications.

The new Sony N1 has a lot of g-whiz features, including a 3" touch screen LCD. You should be able to attract admirers when you pull the N1 out of your pocket. It will certainly out-perform the Sony T1 in just about every category. It has a flash that has a range that is 3 times as far as the T1.

Hi guys, I'm in the market for a new digital camera. I don't want it to be to big, like the Rebel XT. As nice as it is I am looking for a more compact one. Right now, I have the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-T1. It's a good camera, and does fine in the day, but at night even with the flash, it's terrible at producing a quality picture. I want a camera, that produces a beautiful picture in both day and night settings. Also, a couple steps higher than the Sony DSC-T1. I was recommended the Sony Cyber-shot DSC-N1. I was told that since it has an actual protruding lens that will give it the ability to produce a beautiful picture at night. It also has 8 megapixels which is very nice. I see that Cnet rates the Canon PowerShot S80 highest. How does this camera compare to the sony one? Now, I am wondering what you guys would recommend?
Thank you in advance!
