and do PASTE into it, just in case it's still in the clipboard.
Most of the data can be recovered by other means. Check browser history for pages you visit often. Check email, especially if you allow all email addresses to be captured to a folder and find the ones you want. Try and remember if you ever saved a copy of the file before. In Windows you could run a search on all files *.bak and see if any of them were backups of that file. (probably not since it's Open Office, not Windows program). Can't remember what Open Office uses as file endings, maybe *.odt but could also have been *.txt, *.doc, *.docx
Help I have made a CLANGER, (Australian, for serious mistake). Some how I have deleted a page I use every day many times, and would like it back. It contains many E-mail addresses, Web addresses and hints and clues on how to do things, which helps this 75 year old brain through it's day.
To start with I am running Windows 8.
I am using the program, OpenOffice.org Writer.
When I opened it the page was blank, and the saved name is still at the top of the screen. I am happy to admit that there is a possibility that Red Wine could have caused the slip of fingers at the end of the day.
If it is too hard I can live without it but, it would be nice to have it back.
