Help - Need a New Web Hosting Company --- Mine is always dow

by sgi123 / December 13, 2006 3:25 AM PST

My web hosting company is consistently down. They have stopped accepting phone calls or emails and there are lots of complaints about it on the web. When the server is up, there are lots of things I like about my host. I was wondering whether someone could recommend a reliable host with the following attributes:

Allows multiple domain names on 1 account (5)
Allows subdomains (10)
Allows multiple php databases
Spam and antivirus protection
Not on email blacklist
Does not host pornography sites on shared servers

I have a pretty well read blog setup with WordPress and my company website is built using Phpwebsite.

Thanks in advance.

haven't used...

I haven't used the service, but I was just out looking for hosting and came across powerwebservices.com and they have some dedicated packages that look like they might meet your needs.

What you should try and do is choose maybe half dozen or so hosts you feel will fit your needs, make a list. Check for reviews and ask others their experiences. Then contact each host with a few pre-sales questions. That will tell you their response times and the types of responses you'll get. Wind your list down till you find the host you think will be good for you. I know it sounds like a lot of work and it is, but doing your homework now will hopefully help you in the furture.

Does Anyone Have Experience with a GOOD Host
by sgi123 / December 14, 2006 6:43 AM PST

Thanks for the replies. I was wondering if anyone has experience with a GOOD host? A friend of mine recommended 1&1, but they're reviews look all to similar to the problems I have right now. In fact all of the shared host services look like they have the same problems -- and that means no where near 99.9% uptime. Really. I am desperate to move my websites elsewhere. Please provide some recommendations for hosts that don't have downtime and email backlogs.

I believe the one I listed is dedicated and not shared.

you could try hostgator.com.

Support is good.

I had service with Podkive, and it was pretty decent. I terminated my service b/c I didn't need .com anymore.

I think the podcast Channel Federator is member of their service.

I have been very happy with BlueHost. $6.95mo is a steal for the service and support. Access to the support staff is easy and fast 24/7 Q&A, knowledge base is very extensive and they also have a user forum with knowledgeable people willing to help with most anything.

The C-Panel is loaded with goodies and tools, Like wordpress.

Give them a try I believe you will be as happy as I am with them.

I am currently using HostMonster and have been very pleased with their sevice. They are actually run by the same people as blue host but hostmonster has fewer restrictions. You get 200gb of space and 2tb of bandwidth and they have an oc-48 backbone connection. They did have a few downtimes but it was beyond their control. I would highly recomend hostmonster to anyone who wants webhosting and it is only 4.95 per month if you do their 2 year plan. http://www.hostmonster.com

I have tried a lot of hosts, all claiming they are the best. In my 15 years online HostGator is the best.

For less than $10 per month host as many sites.

Domain reg is less than $7 at ipower.com and the management is easy, up to 50 sites in one control panel.

Save $10 dollars here http://hgdiscounts.notlong.com

ipower and HostGator are American companies too.

$9.94 off coupon code: HGC25 http://hgdiscounts.notlong.com

rebate $25: after 60 days hostgator. http://hgdiscounts.notlong.com

Few suggestion
by techbongo / September 25, 2009 3:20 AM PDT

If you need good uptime with multiple domain hosting and all the features you need, you should go with HOSTGATOR. A few more are there. Like JUSTHOST, BLUEHOST etc. Never Go with GODADDY. This is my suggestion. I've never seen such a horrible host like Godaddy, where you need to learn to host your website. Their control panel is so confusing!!!!
