What happens

when you restart the machine?
Does the mouse still not move?

You can shut the machine down by holding the power button down for a period of about 5 seconds. You'll know when it is long enough, the machine will turn off
Turn it back on and tell us what is happening

Replace the wheel and connections?
Sep 21, 2005 4:08PM PDT

Internally. May be a short. Otherwise add the USB external mouse that Grim suggested.
Sometimes with an external mouse, when the wires are bad the pointer will freeze up. Happens at work sometimes. Replace the mouse connections or on an external, replace the mouse, since the wires are attached to the mouse. Problem with wires on a mouse will cause a lock-up with the curser pointer. Could be the USB connection at the keyboard V/S the wires also.
Our IT personnel are not aware of this problem. New mouse in a week from now. That's really GOOD to know from these idiots!
