Can You Boot With Your Recovery Discs?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / November 9, 2009 7:12 AM PST

Place the first recovery disc (or an operating system disc-sorry you didn't tell us which operating system you're using or the make and model of the computer) in the DVD/CD drive, then restart the computer.. It should boot from the disc and allow you to run a "repair" install OR.. toformat and reinstall the operating system back to it's original factory state.

Once it's reinstalled, you can use your BACKUP files to replace the personal documents, music, pictures, etc.

Hope this helps.

Nothing Happened?

Do you mean the computer wouldn't boot to the disc and you got a blue screen again when Windows attempted to load normally..?

Or do you mean the computer didn't start at all?

If the computer doesn't start at all, then you probably need a new power supply.. If the problem is that the computer didn't boot from the Windows CD, then you need to access the BIOS setup screen and adjust the boot order so the DVD/CD drive boots BEFORE the hard drive.

Hope this helps.
