Help-My boss put porn on his login background

Hello

Problem: My boss was in on the weekend and somehow managed to get some porn on his Win2K background image (wallpaper, I guess) for the login screen. So when he logs out, the image is stretched across his monitor in all its glory.

It's pretty funny.

Anyway, I'm guessing that some malware did it. Before we detox his system and force him to use Firefox from now on, I need to change the image so that IT does not crap when we give them the laptop to re-image it.

So, how do I change the background image on a login screen? This could get me in GOOD with my boss.

I may post back if typical solutions do not work, as this may be caused by something that maliciously put the image there. If it pops back up, expect to hear form me again.

Thanks for your help,

Try this.

Change the background 2 TIMES. A never fixed bug causes the old background to stick around like you noticed.

how?

I've never changed the background for the login panel before. Is there a special place to do that?

Thanks

Try ...

Changing the background two times when logged in. As I noted, a never fixed bug. I'd rather not write at length about it. If that doesn't do it, write back.

The BOSS Problem

It's wired to have a boss like that. Well the boss might have stored these Pictures in the Wallpaper folder located in C:\WINNT\Web\Wallpaper and what you can do is to locate this folder and delete these pictures.

If this fails, run find i.e Start>Search>For files or Folders. In the search for Files or Folders named type in *.jpg; Leave containg text blank and in Look in choose Local Harddrives. then click on search Now. After the search is over press Ctrl+A followed by Ctrl+C then creat a folder on the Desktop and paste the Pictures in that Folder using The Right Click option. Open the folder and go to the View menu and select Thumbnails where you will be able to view the actual pictures and then Delete what you want.

After this is done, Go to the Control Panel and Open Display icon then in the Background tab go to "Select a Background picture or HTML document as wallpaper" and Choose None then Apply and OK. Try Rebooting the Laptop to see if this worked

Please if this does not work email me at icsmuk@yahoo.com
