Happy hunting.
And remember that Open Office? It's what I use.

Yes, I keep hearing about open office but my boss won't have it! ![]()
Thanks though...

Or boss will have to pay for a new Office. At our office, the battle was simple. Money or their standards. The CFO didn't fund the standards that the boss wanted and we moved to Open Office the next day.
Boss got over it.

I am just amazed at the number of people that lose their CD. I have lost my product key before, but I have never lost my CD.
My organization skills are terrible, but when it comes to my product CDs they are stored in their cases or a binder and all on the same shelf.
It seems like about once a month someone is posting on the Forums that they lost their CD. Are there really that many disorganized people?
All apologies in advance if this hurts anyone's feelings but the fact that the Office XP CD is not copy protected and for less than a dollar you can duplicate it always makes me wonder why some didn't have a copy to fall back on.
At least we have Ebay.

Honestly, when I see these I think somone is trying to, or has, stolen the product.
1. They have given the CD to an unautorized individual and they did not return it. (i.e. sent it home with an employee/friend to load on their personal machine)
2. Have found a hacked key or gotten the key from someone and now need the media to instal with.
3. Was teh unauthorized person mentioned in #1 above and DID return the media, but now they need to re-install and don't have the media.
maybe I am just jaded.
Entrecon,
#1 and #3 would be rather stupid. As Bob said, making a copy costs half a dollar or so (one CD-R), so there is no need at all to ever lend the original CD to somebody (#1) or to give back the original without making a copy first (#3).
By the way, this discussion is reaching forbidding areas (discussing illegal activities) rather fast. I wonder if one of my colleagues will delete some posts.
