Hello - wondering if anyone can help me out.
I have the Panasonic PV-GS500. Went to use it a couple weeks ago and found that the mode dial ring had come off. This is the main ring that allows you to select record, play, still pix, etc. Have no idea how this happened as it was fine the last time I used it.
At any rate, I searched for a long time to see if I could find any repair info or a scehmatic and have found nothing. I only found a link to Panasonic's closest service center several hundred miles away and a statement that there is a flat rate cost of $261.50!
I find this absurd. I probably need a .50 retaining ring or something equally trivial. I see a parts page, but no pictures or good descriptions.
I've also tried to find a generic service shop in my area (Plymouth, MI) and someone told me that it's just not economical for them to do repairs anymore.
- Any idea where I could get a free/cheap schematic or repair manual?
- Anyone had this particular problem before?
I'm very frustrated - I researched quite a bit before choosing the GS500. If I can't get this repaired fairly inexpensively, I think I'll buy a Sony and never buy Panasonic again. (Had Sony High 8s for years and never any problem)
Any help is greatly appreciated.
Cheers - Rich
Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly
Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
