Help us to help you:
- what tables with a >= 1.5 Ghz processor and a >= 8" screen are on your short list?
- what's your list of good reliable brands available in your country in your preferred shops?

Even today's highest performers can be made to lag.

So that's a given. What is a "very good screen good proccessor"? (may need one with a spell check?)

http://www.robweir.com/blog/2010/05/odf-5-years.html gives us the long view on Word Processors so all these were on other than tablets but now with Microsoft Office on the Apple iPads to meet your goal maybe it's down to:

Apple iPad.
Microsoft Surface Pro 3.

I have an Asus Google Nexus 7 & love it

I paid $180 for a 7" Google Nexus 7 made by Asus. It has a 1.5 GHz quad processor and it's lightning fast. I love it. Since you want an 8" or better, you should be able to find something similar in your price range with the >= 8" screen. If I remember a euro is about 1.25 dollars.

Good luck.

Small world. I have the Nexus 7 gen 1 but

It wasn't until this year they finally got it to charge without odd issues. It's now OK but the first year was pretty rough. It worked but I felt the roughness in some areas.

I also have a nifty bluetooth cover and keyboard but as Word Processing goes it's not WYSIWIG because there is no print metrics.
