Question

Help me please! Windows XP Recovery DVD

Jan 22, 2014 4:36AM PST

I have an old Compaq laptop that currently has a boot up error that says "ntdslr is missing". I do have some knowledge in computer programming, so if anyone can help me they wouldn't be dealing with someone that has no idea what they are doing. Haha. I need some help finding a windows xp os download and then putting these files onto a boot-able DVD. A step by step process would be greatly appreciated. I just want my laptop running like new. I don't mind if I have to restore and loose my personal files completely. I am new to forums and this will be my first post. Thank you for your time!

I'd also want to know more. A common BIOS setting can cause this so let's hear more about drive type and the IDE/SATA bios settings.

Is there any way I can completely restore my laptop to facto

Is there any way I can completely restore my laptop to factory settings then?

Again. About the IDE SATA settings.

These are in the BIOS and if wrong can cause the NTLDR issue. No restore to factory CD/DVD will correct that setting.

XP is very old so you must be very seasoned by now. Check that setting. I'd be more specific if you supply an user manual showing the BIOS screens.

If you lost the restore media, and we know HP is not supplying XP media (folk, prove me wrong and I will appreciate that!) so try http:/www.restoredisks.com
