Help me get rid of the blue screen of death, please!

Feb 14, 2004 6:14AM PST

More and more frequently these days as I use IE or AOL IM or some such software, at some point the blue "error" screen pops up and shuts down these programs. Also, if I click on my taskbar icons, sometimes the computer will freeze up and stall.

I've tried defragmenting, performing virus checks, checking disk space, etc., but nothing seems to solve the problem. I also can't use System Restore b/c it never works. Does anyone have any ideas what I could do? Could it be a program like Kazaa that may cause it, even though I don't have that running, or an external drive that was plugged in and removed improperly like a MP3 player? I have no ideas!

Please help! Thanks.

ME apparently fails with some frequency, which is why it is so often booed. I have had very few problems (at least that I can identify ) with it, but the blue screen is one that occurs occasionally for me.

Check your disk space (my computer/ c drive). I only get the blue screen if my drive is nearing full.

I would get rid of KAZAA.... it will bring on a ton of problems in and of itself.....
