This looks like a failed keyboard or motherboard. It is not a driver issue since you can't remove the keyboard support from the BIOS.
Try this. Plug in some USB keyboard and see if that works.
Bob
I have a Compac nx6125 Laptop.
I have uninstalled the keyboard driver and now nothing works.
History:
The "beeper" kept on beeping continuously until I uninstalled the keyboard driver.
The uninstall suggested I reboot, which I did.
Calamity!!!!! - I could not enter the password because the keyboard now does not work.
I tried booting up with the original Windows OS CD, and that asks if I want to install or recover, but still the keyboard does not allow me to enter anything.
So next I formatted the HD (in a different PC), thinking that reloading the OS might replace the keyboard driver. Alas, no luck.
Now my question: how do I get the laptop keyboard to work so that I can load the OS and all the other stuff?
System information:
Laptop Compaq nx6125.
OS: MS Windows XP Professional, SP 2
Note: that HD is newly formatted with one active partition, but nothing on it.
The OS CD boots up and all kinds of stuff is loaded until the questions, but of course the keyboard does not work, so I cannot get any further.
Even pressing F10 to get into the "ROM based setup" does not work.
Seems the keyboard driver is perhaps in the flash rom. If so, how do I get it to work again?
