Question

Help me decide which surface pro 4 to buy

Dec 18, 2015 2:14PM PST

Is the Surface pro 4 with the i5 processor (hd 520,) able to reproduce 1080p mkv files over a wireless dipslay (miracast)?

Aside other normal stuff that is the task I wondering if it can handle or if I need to go for the i7 version.

Thanks in advance.

Answer
I've yet to see any PC do this today.

miracast is what it is. The lag and occasional drop frame is sadly normal. If you want fairly great wireless video, head to a Wireless HDMI setup.

One more thing...

Thanks for the advice on using hdmi, but I'm more worried about the graphic processor, can it handle the playback of a 1080p video in one of those compressed formats even if I don't replicate the signal to another monitor?
