Okay so I've been checking this out all day and I think it's JUST what I'm looking for. I have one question though, can anyone verify that I can simply drag whole folders of mp3's directly to it rather than using its software. As soon as someone verifies this for me I'll either order one or keep searching.
Let me first say I would buy an Ipod however I want to see if there is an alternative that doesn't require special software (like I-tunes) to dump music to it.
Anyways, here are my requirements:
20GB or larger
USB2 with the ability to be used as a MSD
Drag and drop mp3's to it and have it play them like that, and NOT BY ID3 TAG (this is my BIGGEST gripe, a lot of my music doesn't have ID3 tags, so they play whereever, not in alphabetical/folder order)
The ability to browse around the files while a mp3 is playing without having it stop.
Ideally i'd like something like the old Riovolts, where I can just dump whole folders with subfolders with full albums. With the riovolt I could do everything I wanted except it's size, durability and capacity sucked. Is there anything out there with the features I'm looking for? I utterly dispise having to install special software to dump music to a device (like riomanager, the iriver crap, i-tunes..)
