Help me choose!!

Sep 21, 2004 5:51PM PDT

I live in a less urban area and have narrowed down my available cell phone choices to three: LG LX5550, LG VX6000, or Audiovox CDM-8900.
I didn't find a review for the 5550 but the 6000 has a good rating...but not analog for my less urban area. But the Audiovox has a lower rating. Maybe someone can help me choose. OR should I stick with my Motorola T731? with low batt life and cutting out on convos

I asked on this board about what they thought about the Samsung SCH-a650 and so far the phone has worked great for me. It's a tri-mode phone, but doesn't have the external screen, but at least there's a setting to where the phone isn't answered when flipping the phone open. The phone has a fairly decent battery life, depending on how long you're on the phone. I haven't been on the phone long enough to give average talk time based on my experience, but standby time, I've managed to get 7 days out of the battery life, just on the standard battery. Reception has been good for me, even where digital signals tend to be weak. Only once did my phone flip to analog, but my phone handles weak digital signals well enough that the phone rarely reverts to analog. Now you don't mention which service you're looking at or where you live, but I can tell you I have Verizon Wireless and the phone I mentioned works with Verizon Wireless.
Now I wonder when CNet plans to put the review of the Samsung SCH-a650 on their site. I want to put my feedback on this phone to give people an idea what my experience is like for this phone.

LG LX5550

I've had my Lg LX5550 for about 5 months now and very pleased with it.

Battery life is about four days for me leaving in on 24/7.

It is very easy to program with easy instructions to follow.

I have found plenty of forums about this phone. You just have to look for them.

You can go to Lg USA web site and download an owners manual to show you all the bells and wistles.
