The Hp uses Vista basic and the Asus uses Vista Home premium and that right there assures the Asus af being better future proof with graphic capabilities.

Netbook versus Notebook
May 11, 2009 3:36AM PDT

What do you plan to do with a new notebook? If you are looking for a lightweight system that is good for just browsing and email, then a netbook will probably serve you well. The CNET reviews on the HP DV2 http://reviews.cnet.com/laptops/hp-pavilion-dv2/4505-3121_7-33483187.html?ttag=rev_spon_prod&tag=mncol;lst suggest the HP will provide slightly better performance than netbooks with Intel Atom. But? if you are looking for a full featured notebook (more performance and capabilities) then I would go with the Asus. Also, look around for Asus models containing Pentium Dual-Core T3400 or T4200 processors. These processors are the most current and will provide better performance than the T2390.

I'm thinking Netbook...
May 11, 2009 5:16AM PDT

Thanks for the input, guys, but I've actually had my judgment swayed in the past 24 hours, as I am now considering purchasing a netbook. It's a toss up between the HP Mini 2140 (love it) or an Asus EeePC.... hmmm.. I'm really leaning towards the HP, despite the fact that the Asus is probably the better buy. Not 100% just yet.. I have a couple of days to think about it, as HP Canada is completely sold out at the moment of Minis.

You might want to look at the new Acer

with the 10.1 screen. It's getting good reviews. The Netbooks are getting closer and closer to low priced PC's.
