ok i was deleting some stuff and accidently deleted the volume control thingy and now I dont have the icon in the task bar for the volume control and im stuck with no sound

i dont know how to get it back

System Restore, or expand SNDVOL32 from your OS CD, and dump it in the %SYSTEMROOT%\SYSTEM32 directory.

Next time, learn what and what not to delete.

Control Panel, Sounds and Audio Devices, put a check in "Place volume icon in Taskbar".

well, she was deleting stuff and the volume icon suddenly disappeared. Whats more likely: She accidentally wandered into CPL and turned off the icon, or deleted the program.

LOL.

Type SNDVOL32 into RUN, and if it gives an error, the OP just PWND themselves.
