Answer
"I cant get it back" Doesn't Tell Us Much

Since you've posted in the Windows 7 forum, we can assume you are using Windows 7, but you haven't told us anything else about the computer. Make and model? Laptop or desktop? Age of the computer? What have you done to "try to get it back"? Which "1 of my things" is working? Do you have sound? The more information you give us, the better informed our answer will be.

In the meantime, try visiting the Realtek site and download and install the latest driver for your sound card. Check the Device Manager and see which driver is currently installed and see if there is an updated version for your computer.

Also, RIGHT click on the speaker icon in the lower right corner of your computer,, choose "Volume mixer, and make sure various items aren't muted. Also, RIGHT click, choose "Playback Devices" and when that opens, RIGHT click on a blank are of the window, make sure "show disabled devices" is CHECKED. If something's disabled, re-enable it.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

Sounds Like That's Correct

If you're attempting to plug in speakers, or headphones, those are designed to be plugged into the green port/jack. That's an audio "out" port. The pink port is generally for microphone "in" and the blue one is normally for line "in" types of plugs for hearing sound from external audio devices.

Or are you saying that you've tried plugging in a microphone to the pink port and it doesn't work and you've tried plugging in an audio device to the blue port and it doesn't work also? If that's the case, and you're having problems with the ports on the front of the computer, it's not unusual. They frequently aren't connected correctly. Try the ports on the back of the computer or repair the ports on the front.

Hope this helps.
