HELP!-McAffe Internet Security Suite 2007

Hi,
I have a Windows 2000 SP4 and I am having a little trouble with McAffe. It has an icon in the system tray saying your computer is not protected and I opened it up. It says The "Detection Signature is over 30 days old" "Action Required" "Click Fix now" I tried pressing fix and it says "Fixing your protection Items--Please wait" And it says that for about a few minutes then it goes away and nothing happens. Is there a way I can fix it or manually fix the detection signature?

Thanks

Andrew

Has Your Subscription Expired??

In reply to: HELP!-McAffe Internet Security Suite 2007

Your description makes it appear as though you no longer have a valid subscription to download McAfee's updates.. Is that correct or not?

If it's not expired and assuming you have a good internet connection, then RIGHT click on the McAfee icon, choose "Update Now" should do the trick..

If it's expired, the answer is to purchase a valid extension to your subscription.. The Suite has a number of items that need updating, (unlike the old VirusScan of old which was a single program) and therefore, it needs a number of items to update fully.

Hope this helps and let us know more.

It must be expired but I am thinking of purchasing Total Protection so that I can do printer sharing on my network.

Thanks!!!

You Can Have Printer Sharing Without McAfee Total Protection

In reply to: Thanks

Sharing files and printers on a network has more to do with setting up the right sharing permissions on the computer and in your firewall. It can be done easily by simply using the Windows Firewall, or any other firewall for that matter.

It's your choice as to which ones to use.. Just something to mull over.

Hope this helps.
