Question

HELP. Mac running slow and getting this message

Sep 23, 2014 12:05PM PDT

Here is the message that keeps popping up.

What do I do to take care of this?

Warning: Unresponsive script
A script on this page may be busy, or it may have
stopped responding. You can stop the script now, open the script debugger, or let the script continue.
Script: chrome://global/content/bindings/browser.xml:391

I have clicked the 'debug script' button and the 'stop script 'button and the 'continue' button.
None seem to make any difference.
The message continues to pop up and my Mac Pro is running slow with the ball going around so much.

Help!

Thanks!
Jane

Clarification Request
Did you try resetting Chrome?

Add ins are common causes for this one. Also, I can write bad scripts so the site could be problematic.

Thanks very much for your replies Bob and R. Proffitt

To Bob,

What are add ins?

Also, when you say the site could be problematic, what do you mean?
I have several sites open when I get this unresponsive script pop.
I didn't associate it with just one site, but are you saying that it is just associated with one site
and not on my computer in general?
So then the fix would be just to close down every site I have open?

To R. Proffitt,
I have been using Firefox.
Have not had Chrome for more than a week.
Do I reset Chrome by just opening it up and then restarting my computer?

Thank you both very much for your replies. I appreciate it very much!

Well, there is google?

I can ask on the web search what are add ins as well as how to reset Chrome.

I'd do that first.

Also, the script processor in Chrome and Firefox are different so it is possible for a site to work in one but not the other.

I was like you getting the same pop up message from Firefox and Chrome, so i tried something that i had done a long time ago and switch to the Opera browser, since doing this i have had no more issues with this problem, i did revert back to the first two browsers just to make sure it was not just my Mac causing the problem and the pop up message returned with each browser, so now i just use Opera and everything seems ok
