Try Removing Spyware Guard 2008 Like This..
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / December 25, 2008 4:10 AM PST

First, try downloading the two Malwarebytes removal tool files from the links below.. If you can't download the files from the infected computer, please use a friend or family member's "clean" computer and download the Malwarebytes tool and it's manual update from the link below.. Once downloaded, rename the program installer "mbam-setup.exe" file to something else like "Gogetum.exe", then copy the installer file and the update file to a CD or flash drive.. Transfer the file to the problem machine, then install the "Gogetum.exe" file, then run the manual updater file to get the program current.. After that, run a full system scan and delete anything it finds.

Malwarebytes Download Link (Clicking on the links below will immediately start the download dialogue window.)

Malwarebytes Manual Updater link

If the program installs correctly but then won't run, please access the "C:\Program Files\ Malwarebytes Antimalware folder and rename the "mbam.exe" file to something else.. Make sure it has a .exe file extension and then double click on the newly named file. Malwarebytes should run correctly now..

Here's the removal instructions from the Bleeping Computer website which also include using Malwarebytes from above:

Hope this helps.

Renamed The Mbam.exe File Yet?
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / December 26, 2008 10:24 AM PST
In reply to: HELP!!!

First, close the mbam.exe from running in Task Manager.. Next, visit the C:\Program Files\Malwarebytes Antimalware folder and first rename the mbam.exe file to something Gogetum1.exe, then double click on the file to run the program.. It might also be necessary to rename the Malwarebytes Antimalware folder to something else as well.

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
