can anyone help me in obtaining a free simple database software for record keeping purposes of patients in a pediatric clinic.....any help will be greatly appreciated

That's no database. That's an Application.

While the Application may use a database, you are asking for more than a database.

But if you insist, MySQL is free and something I've put applications around before.

thanks, i stand corrected...which means i have to do my own applicatiion... but can i use ms access?? which one is much easier to understand or easier to create an application for my concern sir?? i'm a novice in this field sir..

MS Access isn't free, so it doesn't fit your requirements. But if you change those, you'll find it a good choice, although not very easy to learn once you want more than the absolute basics (but that's the same for all application programming tools).

OpenOffice and LibreOffice (free alternatives to MS Office) both contain database programs.
