Bad info

You got some bad info. XP will still be receiving security updates for another 5-6 years. Possibly longer, depending on how many large customers are still using XP around the time XP is slated to go end of life.

Once it does reach end of life status, there will be NO further updates. Third party updates are not going to be available, because they would require access to the Windows source code, and Microsoft does not give that out.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
