Help! Lightning Stike Troubleshooting

by BlueHavanaII / August 22, 2011 6:39 AM PDT

I'm at wits end and do not know where to turn on this...

My TV (Samsung LN46A850) has blown up 5 times since May!
In March, we had a lightning strike take out the Telephone NID (as well as the AT&T U-Verse UPS and on of the Set Top Boxess) and AT&T replaced it.

Since then, the TV has suffered 5 failed main boards, with each failure occurring during a thunderstorm. The 4th time the TVs power supply was alos replaced.
Nothing else in the house has been affected.

During this time I have added a whole house surge protector and a UPS on the AV system.

If the strike was through the electrical system, I would think that other devices in the house would be affected.

But if the strike went through the phone lines, I would think that the AT&T Residental Gateway and Set Top Boxes would blow out as well.

Any ideas what to do next??

Thanks!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
