HELP! JVC Everio Hard Disk compatible with mac???

I am using a new imac with final cut express

I cant get my computer to recognize the files from teh camcorder.

they are .mpg but the computer does not recognize them as movie files.

any suggestions???

Check with apple.

Look for FCP docs such as this.

I know some that have old FCP and support is limited so you must convert the video before using it. Upgrading to some is not an option?

I have the same setup, your new iMac comes with an application 'iMovie', open this and you can upload straight to it, so simple.

Make sure use the newer version of Imovie.. The old one doesnt work with the HDD but the newer one does!! Thank you soo much for the info!!!
