help is my ps3 on its way out???

When starting up this message comes up on screen "cannot start correct hard disc not found".I then have to shut down and repeat this three or four times my console is a 60 gig is this a common problem with this version.Any help is welcomed!!

Sounds like the hard drive is starting to fail. Shouldn't be a big issue, since IIRC, the PS3 makes it quite easy to replace. Pretty much any SATA 2.5" hard drive will work is my general understanding. It can be bigger or smaller than 60GB. The only real catch, is that you're likely to lose anything on that current drive.

You will want to hope so, because otherwise it's about $150 to have Sony work on it, and if you've got a 60GB model, you'll probably lose the PSX/PS2 back compatibility if you go that route, because they'll probably just send you an 80GB model that has no PSX/PS2 support.
