Help - Intnernet Explorer not displaying images

by valleyrider / July 2, 2010 11:42 PM PDT

Internet Explorer is not displaying any images on my wife's account in XP Home. My account is not affected, and Firefox has no problem. She has somehow managed to change a setting somewhere, and I can't find it. There are NO images displayed, even the Google logo and the banner at the top of this CNET page (I'm in Firefox at the moment). Can anyone tell me how to fix this for her, and prove that it is not some form of sabotage on my part? Thanks for any help.

Open IE>Tools>Internet Options>Advanced tab and under Multimedia checkmark "Show Pictures", click Apply/OK.

That's what is curious about this problem

That is what makes this seemingly easy-to-fix problem so confusing - the Show Pictures box is checked. Everything seems to in place to view images, but she can't. I've been considering a reinstall of IE.

Reinstalling IE

Reinstalling won't change the settings that are safely stored in the registry. Much easier and better: reset to default via Tools>Internet options.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
