Try a repair
Feb 22, 2006 9:55PM PST

of IE and OE:

Add/Remove Programs > highlight Microsoft Internet Explorer > click Add/Remove > select Repair > Next > OK.

Reboot when finished and test.

If this doesn't help, uninstall from Add/Remove Programs and run the IE6.0 SP1 installation from:

http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=1e1550cb-5e5d-48f5-b02b-20b602228de6&DisplayLang=en

Reboot when finished and test again.

Hopefully you will not need this Winsock fix tool:

http://downloads.subratam.org/WinsockFix.zip

Download, unzip, scan clicking the "Fix" button. Reboot when finished and test.

Good luck.

Laurette, My Suggestion For EasyShare Software
Feb 22, 2006 11:44PM PST

I recently installed the EasyShare software for my daughter's new Kodak C330 camera and the software "took over" the computer..So here's how I solved the issue on my home XP computer.

First, uninstall the EasyShare software from the Control Panel/Add-Remove Programs section. Once that's done, restart the computer, then place the EasyShare CD in the drive and start the reinstall process BUT THIS TIME, instead of doing the "default" installation of all software, choose a "CUSTOM" install. When the custom install options are listed, UNCHECK all program options EXCEPT for the "camera recognition" software..Now let the installation proceed. It will only install the camera recognition software.

After the installation, in order to view or download your pictures to the computer, start with computer turned ON and the camera turned OFF, then plug the USB cable to the camera and to the USB port on the computer, then turn the camera ON. You'll see a brief camera recognition box in the lower right corner and then that will disappear. You can now access your camera like any other USB drive from "My Computer". Open "My Computer", double click on the drive listed for your camera, then open the folders displayed there to view your pictures.

Hope this helps.
