Help in deleting

Jul 8, 2006 7:56PM PDT

I have this flash disk, scandisk cruzer mini 512, and i have just transfered files unto it.

well, it actually fell about 2 feet, but i was not that worried then. when i plugged it up, some of the files are in a format i have no idea of. they are in ascii, i think, because they are in a form of boxes. the file size of each is 16 mb. i can't delete the files. when i try to delete the files, the system says that it is an invaild and cannot delete the file.

any help would do... just not the kind of help that i would lose all files in the flash drive.

i'm not sure if someone had posted this already... there are too many discussions.

Why would we lose files?

One of the recurring lessons in these forums is that we only lose what we don't keep a backup of. Backup is not "one copy".

If the file system is corrupt the best you can hope for is to copy some files out and then contact the USB memory stick maker to ask how to reformat it.

In closing I would type PC FILE INSPECTOR in google.com and see if it can get the files out. Also I know to try the stick in other machines just in case.

now that you've mentioned ''copying'' and ''formating'', i should have thought of that earlier.

thanks for that reminder!!!
