It's about the same as with Excel, but maybe somewhat easier. You can write a rather simple VBA-module, that (depending on the system date, or on values you fill in in a form) calls the import-spreadsheet functionality (docmd.<macroname> parameter1 ... parametern) in a loop. Every pass through the loop imports one file. The coding inside the loop determines the parameters; most of them are fixed, only the full filename is different.
It shouldn't take more than a few hours work for any MS Access programmer to create the application.
Hope this helps.
Hi, I've got an Access databse I'm building, and I need some help with importing. Keep in mind I'm a bit of a novice here.
I have to be able to import files into a table I've created. The files are all the same name, but are in different directories named by the date they were created. What I'm trying to do is be able to select as few or as many of the files/directories as I need and import them into Access. This needs to be as streamlined as possible...
Anyone have any suggestions for how to do this (if it is possible)? Please help a newbie out.
