It is not a Display Port. Very odd that Samsung claims to not know. I found it in the web page for this laptop. The adapter looks to be only from Samsung.

I have scoured the internet, taken my laptop to Best Buy, and even called Samsung, but nobody can explain to me what this port is or what it is used for.
I have a Samsung Series 7 Chronos (Model number NP700Z5C-S02UB) and on the left side of the laptop, between the audio in/out and the USB 3.0 ports there is a small port that looks sort of like a micro HDMI or mini USB but it isn't either of them. We tried plugging in both of those at Best Buy. It is listed on Samsung's website in one location as being just a "Display Port" (two words, i.e. it is not DisplayPort) and in another location on their site it is listed as being micro VGA which I can't find as even an existing connection type. The symbol above it looks sort of like a monitor - one rectangle with another slightly larger rectangle around it.
