Help - I have locked myself out of my C Drive!!

I have made an awful mistake. I was trying to restrict 'Guest Account' access to the C Drive (right click>properties>security).

I was successful, HOWEVER I also somehow blocked C Drive access from within my own (Administrator) user account as well! Furthermore, I am extremely limited in making any changes to the machine now - basically I cannot access any menu item that is accompanied by a Windows Shield icon(including 'Manage another account', 'Fix windows with System Restore', or any other normally-accessible Administrator functions).

I have no other Administrator accounts setup (can't setup a new one, either). Is there anyway to undo this?! It seems very strange that Windows would alow the only Administrator to lock himself out like this.

I am REALLY hoping I will not have to re-instal windows. I will loose a lot of data!

Thanks for any help....!

I have the exact same problem. Has anybody been able to fix this? It's really silly that even the master Administrator (running the code through the cmd.exe, and then logging in as the master Administrator) still doesn't work. help!? This is my work computer

If yours is a user account in the Administrator group ...

you should be able to take posession of the C: drive then re-enable full permissions for Administrator accounts.

You do have the default ADMOINSTRATOR account availavle for your use but you have to enable it.

Here is a very helpful link complete with graphics (pictures) to step you through the process -

Essentially it involves issuing the command net user administrator /active:yes at a comman prompt in admin mode then re-booting and selecting the account. Until you add a password this account has no password so either add one you CANNOT FORGET or disable the account after using it.
