Help!! I can't delete a song!

Apr 19, 2006 5:59AM PDT

I recently downloaded a song from Limewire which wouldn't play for some reason, i then tried to delete it and there is no response! There is no window asking me if i'm sure i want to delete, no sound or anything! the same happens when i Shift+Delete, when i try to drag it into the recycle bin, cut, copy, rename or try to do those things from File and Edit. After this i thought it may be some kind of virus or bug or whatever so i tried quarantining it with Mcafee but it wouldn't because the file name is invalid for some reason. I then virus scanned the file it is in but it wasn't recognised as a threat. So I'm glad that it won't affect or damage my pc in any way but it still really bugs me and i want to get rid of it more than ever! please help!!

By the way i'm running Win XP

Try scanning

Try scanning your computer with these in the safe mode

Also you need to have measures to stop spyware from getting into your computer. You can get C W Shredder to help remove some and you can also use SPYBOT SEARCH & DESTROY. Another good spyware remover is AD AWARE and one that stops spyware from getting into your computer is SPYWARE BLASTER. Then when all else fails you can get HIJACKTHIS.

If you use all these tools it will not elminate spyware from getting into your computer, but it will help. Some spyware gets into your computer using the Macromedia Flash player. If you feel that you still might have spyware in your computer, then you can go to TREND MICRO to do another online scan.

Hope this helps

Delete your file
Jun 15, 2006 7:22AM PDT

You might have good luck deleting the unwanted file (song) by using your windows explorer. Find your file, highlight it, right click and chose "delete". That should do it. Your file is probably in "my music". Good Luck.
