I cannot delete this Newsflash from my HP desktop - I have run spybot,adaware,microsofts beta 1, spydoctor and AVG. Anyone?

Help .....I can not kill this newflash on my taskbar!!!

On my HP pavilion xp home, one year old,Pent 4, on the task bar is an annoying icon "E" that states it is "newsflash" I have blocked it with my firewall (Sygate) but it attempts to reach the internet constantly. I can't remove it, open it nor does it appear to be harmful - famous last words.

is new stuff out all the time. I would start with checking add/remove programs and see if there is anything there that you don't recognize. Also do an online scan at one or all of these and see if they find anything.
