Help. I am starting web design course tomorrow, but???

Hi. I am starting the web design course tomorrow, on the site it says purchase the tools to help you on the course, unfortunately I am not able to buy them all, is there any sites that I can get the neccessary tools that are required for free, if not, will this affect me being able to do the course, also I was going to purchase the FrontPage 2002(office XP) and mine is a windows ME. will this be compatible with the office XP. regards Alan

Do you mean

the CNET web design online course?

If so, then you will not need any tools to take the course, although if you have them they will help the course along.

If you mean some other web design course, then presumably they require you to obtain these tools to help you get the best out of the course.

Check the box on the Office XP FrontPage 2002 program, in Minimum System Requirements.

I suspect the minimum is Windows XP.

What tools do you need?

Is this a CNET online course? There is a free Office look-alike that can be you specifically need MS OFFICE XP for the course? I don't know if there are specifics for using the XP Office but I know that there are aspects of Office that work well with FPage but not sure if the free Office would have those features as well. More info needed from you.....

web design course. further info

here are the discs that CNET say I will be needing, I cannot afford them all and I wanted to know if there are any free downloads that can compensate to help me with the course. JAVASCRIPT learning disc. E-COMMERCE learning disc and ADOBE PHOTO SHOP 7.O learning disc.THANKS FOR YOUR REPLIES AND ADVICE.

NONE of those are required for the course...

they are all LEARNING cds to teach you how to use various products. I would suggest NOT wasting money on any of them UNLESS you have a specific desire to learn one or more in detail (and to do that you would have to actually purchase the application too). You can locate online tutorials for what you have listed such as this one for HTML and javascripting as well as CSS -

These for Photoshop -

Look here and especially at the Course Materials link near the bottom.

You should contact the instructor to find out EXACTLY what you NEED for the course.
