Help: HTIB vs. Individual Components

by TechQuestion / January 20, 2006 7:54 AM PST

Hey folks,

I'm just starting to get into home audio/video, and I'm on a pretty strict budget, but I had a question. My 30" Widescreen HDTV needs some friends, namely a surround sound system and a playstation 3. Because I'm new to home audio, I had planned on buying an HTIB to make my life easier, but most if not all of them include a DVD player. As far as I know, the PS3 will play DVD's and Blu-Ray discs, so my question is simply this: do I need the DVD player included in an HTIB system AND a PS3? Will I sacrifice anything (quality, options, etc) by using the PS3 as my DVD player? Finally, if I don't need the HTIB's DVD player, what options can I pursue to get decent sound without it? Let's assume a $500 budget or so. I'd appreciate any help, wonderful site you've got here!

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
