If the media has .WMV files did you try video convertors for the Mac such as HANDBRAKE?
http://www.amazon.com/Sony-NEXVG10-Interchangeable-Camcorder-Black/dp/B003WQMSOU shows this records to memory cards (I did not look at what's on those cards and used your post to guess they are WMV files.)
So the software for your Apple would only need to use those files on that card.
If you dont mind I have tech question and I was thinking you might have some other ideas to solve it. This guy that I work with bought a camera (Sony Handycam HD 14.2 mega Pix Nex - VG10) the disk that it came with only works for PCs so it only carries WMV files. This is a problem since I have a Mac and my software only uses files like MOV. So in order to get the video footage on my computer I have to load it to a PC and then convert the footage and then I can place it on to the mac. Do you know of any way that I can simply start out by uploading the footage to the mac?
Thanks for you time
