HELP! Hi 8 - Cassette door stuck

Jan 18, 2005 7:31AM PST

My Sony TR820 came back to me today and I can't open the cassette door. The motor inside is constantly trying but no joy. Is there a way of "forcing" the door to open?

Don't fix it. Make the call and get it back to them. (broken)

My brother-in-law borrowed it and posted it back. My wife opened the box and the cassette door was open. She closed it by pushing the door closed. Usually, the unit pulls the door closed but the battery was dead. I charged it up and now it won't eject

I've been known to gently help it open and hope it's ok. Been lucky.

My HandyCam cassetteloadewr jammed open. Plenty juice in battery I put in the cassette, close the door but the tape will not load ie remains 1/2 ejected. If I eject the door pops open again. Any ideas??

To reset the door eject remove battery for 30 min. Replace and try again. You need to drain power in internal battery - may need more than 30 min.

I just fixed my mother's camcorder for her with your help. She's extremely grateful since she's been meaning to get it repaired for over a year now. I am also, because now I can borrow it again. LOL Yay!

Although the camcorder now ejects tapes, that's all it does. I stick in a mini DV cassette (prerecorded or blank), shut the door, start playback or record, and the screen shows that the tape wants to eject and won't do anything else.

It's a Samsung SCD27. I see one other person has a similar problem with the same model, but nobody responded to his message. I hope someone can help.
