Could you tell more, like what security software it is. And its current status. And what exactly the compaq recovery did. Usually, this kind of recovery brings the system back to the factory state, and then there's only the factory software, not any software you installed yourself (like this 'security software') nor any data you added yourself.

by kkeaneng / February 9, 2008 9:33 PM PST

WHEN WE REINSTALL THE WINDOWS WILL THE FILE SHOW AS A NORMAL FILE OR THEY WILL BE STILL IN THE HIDDEN FILE. WHEN THE faq SAYS FIND BACK THE FILE . THAT IS THE CONFUSING PART? HOW DO I DO THAT?

After you RE-INSTALL WINDOWS as the FAQ states you "find them back" by searching for them by name, date, or other criteria you specify in the File Search applet.

Still confused? look at it this way --

If you replaced your home's front door (the OS) because of a broken lock (your file security thing) how would you find your underwear (your files)? probably by searching the path to where you last left them - ...\room\chest\drawer\underwear.cln (drive:\path\to\files.lost)

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
