Help grandma set up music player on Samsung SGH-A687

I about as tech-savvy as a grandma and I recently got a new phone. This phone could receive a 32GB card with music that I had for a long time in my SD card player.

The problem is that when I try to open the music as contents of the files on the card, I could only play one song at a time. The other program that allows to play music dosn't offer me to play music by folder, only by album or playlist.

1) What is the operating system on my phone?

2) How can I load my own playlists and what extension should they have? Do I have to populate the playlist by hand via phone interface?

3) How can I clean all the undesired applications off my phone? Samsung New PC Studio wont let me uninstall trials of unwanted software that was there.

4) My phone doesnt always reckon that there is an SD card. Why?

Thank you.
