help! g4 dual, ox10.4.11 - won't shut down, keeps restarting

what should i do? everything was working fine. then i got a new mouse yesterday - a microsoft mobile wireless 3500... and i installed the software. everything seemed fine. went to shut down last night and my computer kept restarting. had to use the button to force it shut it off.

what do i do?

Uninstall the software for the mouse

if the problem started after you installed the software, there is a distinct possibility that this is the culprit

i think i've JUST solved the problem. i had the little remote flinkie that comes with the mouse plugged into my keyboard's usb slot... which evidently isn't the same as the usb on the computer somehow (lower power?)... and when i moved that remote flinkie directly to the computer, it quit acting up! whoooo hoooo!

The USB port on the keyboard is not USB2.0 or High Speed, while the ones on the Mac itself are.
